After a successful career in karting, Jos Verstappen made the transition to car racing in the early 90’s. Clinching the European Formula Opel Lotus championship in 1992, he followed this up with the German F3 title in 1993 as well as winning the 1993 Marlboro Masters.
After F1 tests for Arrows and McLaren, he signed for Bennetton for the 1994 F1 season scoring 2 podiums in his debut season. He followed this up with stints at Simtek, Arrows, Tyrrell, Stewart, again Arrows and then Minardi where he drove his final of 106 Grand Prix’ in 2003.
After his F1 Grand Prix career, Jos was a race winner in A1GP as well as an LMP2 class winner in the Le Mans 24hrs.
