MagShift Mini

Don’t be fooled by its compact appearance: MagShift Mini can be set to require either buttery smooth or very rigid shift force and is packed with extra features.

A solid, durable steel construction combined with a heavy-duty aluminium shift knob. Inside Magshift Mini sits an innovative magnetic shift system, which delivers a realistic sequential shift experience with individually adjustable up- and downshift force.

All of this fits in the palm of your hand. With dimensions (WxDxH) of 5,75 x 9,15 x 16,9cm (including the U shaped bracket), MagShift Mini has a super small form factor.

Adjustability

MagShift Mini features a patented 2-way adjustable shift system. The overall upshift force and downshift force can both be set individually to a strength between 4 to 8kg. This means that, despite the small form factor, you can set both low and high shift forces.

The graph shows the shifter force for any position of the lever at the softest, medium and hardest MagShift Mini settings.

Sensors & Electronics

Opto-electronic sensors are used to detect shifts. This means that there is no wear on electronic components, ensuring reliable operation for years to come.

The system is plug-and-play, after connecting MagShift via USB you can immediately assign functions in your favorite simulator software.

Double your outputs

Extra functions can be unlocked when you install Heusinkveld SmartControl software. With SmartControl, you can set up to 4 fully customizable outputs using the lever.

You can trigger these outputs simultaneously, delayed or independently from a single movement of the shifter lever.

Quality Control

We take great care that your MagShift Mini is shipped out in perfect condition. Every individual MagShift is tested using an automated testing routine which ensures that your shifter functions as intended.

The test results for your specific shifter are included in the MagShift Mini package.

With Heusinkveld SmartControl you have the option to expand the outputs of the Magshift Mini to 4 fully customizable outputs. You can configure and customize the outputs using the easy-to-use editor in SmartControl.

For every single input you can configure a primary and secondary output. An output can be a selectable joystick button or any keyboard keystroke (including modifier keys such as Shift, Ctrl, Alt etcetera).

The primary and secondary output can be triggered simultaneously, delayed or independently. The functions are time-bound. How long you push or pull the lever determines whether the primary, secondary or both outputs are triggered.

You may want to use different settings depending on the car of software you drive. You can store different settings into a profile and change them with a few mouse clicks.

Shared profiles with other SmartControl compatible products

If you have other Heusinkveld products which use SmartControl, it is possible to create a single profile which includes multiple SmartControl compatible Heusinkveld devices. This allows you to change MagShift, Handbrake and pedal settings all at once.

SmartControl Live

SmartControl Live is software which is designed to run in the background while using your simulator. It allows you to switch between profiles created using SmartControl while driving. With MagShift, a possible use case would be to change the direction of up- and downshifts and the touch of a button.

Dimensions

The Magshift Mini is extremely compact which ensures convenient installation in even the tightest simulator environments. Including the U-shaped mounting bracket, the dimensions (WxDxH) are 5,75 x 9,15 x 16,9cm.

The small form factor allows for many possible installation locations. It can be installed on a center console of any simulator but due to it’s small size mounting in close proximity to the steering wheel is also an option.

Mounting

Every MagShift Mini comes with a U-shaped mounting bracket which makes mounting the shifter to your simulator super easy.

The U-brackets mounts to your simulator with just 2 bolts, ensuring a narrow profile of the overall installation. Your MagShift Mini is then attached to the bracket.

When mounted onto aluminium profiles, the MagShift Mini only requires a single profile slot for mounting.

Mounting bracket adjustments

The mounting bracket allows for several adjustments to fine-tune the position of your MagShift.

Yaw adjustment (by rotating the bracket).
Tilt adjustment (3 positions).

Included mounting materials

Mounting materials are supplied in order to attach the MagShift Mini to aluminium profiles. 2x M6x12 flanged bolts and 2x 6mm T-nuts are included in the package.

Alternative mounting options

Three alternative mounting options (sold separately) are also available:

Angled mount: Allows the MagShift Mini to be mounted at an angle relative to an aluminium profile.
Vertical mounting plate: Allows the MagShift Mini to be mounted to a vertical (instead of a horizontal) aluminium profile beam.

Do you need a sequential shifter for sim racing?
Most modern racing cars such as Formula 1 use paddle shifters. But if you drive rally simulations, GT cars, touring cars or classic formula cars using a sequential shifter is an absolute must. With the versatile Heusinkveld MagShift Mini, you’ll be able to simulate any kind of race car and really immerse yourself in the racing action.

MagShift Mini offers a 2-way adjustable shift force, MagShift offers a 3-way adjustable shift force and an extra 3 buttons. Both can offer both low and high shift force (up to 8kg for MagShift Mini, up to 11kg for MagShift). Both products offer additional configuration options through Heusinkveld SmartControl software.

Why can a high shift force be important?

Simulators become more and more realistic. With direct drive wheels and simulator pedals being able to deliver realistic forces as experienced, you want a shifter which delivers a similar, real race car experience. Do you prefer lower forces? No problem, Magshift Mini can be set to a shift force between 4 and 8kg. Upshift and downshift force can be set independent from each other.

Will Heusinkveld MagShift work on PS4 or Xbox One?
The Heusinkveld MagShift is designed to work on PC/Windows systems only.

The MagShift is plug-and-play. The shifter works with 5 outputs straight out of the box (upshift, downshift and 3 button outputs). If you want to use 10 fully customizable outputs, you need to download and use Heusinkveld SmartControl.

Is Heusinkveld MagShift a certified product?
Heusinkveld MagShift has passed EMC compliance testing. CE certification is currently being finalized.
