We’re happy to inform you that our new MagShift is back in stock!
What happened?
After the initial launch in December 2023 we received feedback from several customers & reviewers that the shift-feel of MagShift left them underwhelmed. The feedback mainly focused on the lack of a clear ‘click’ feeling when shifting, which is a key design feature of MagShift.
Because we as Heusinkveld stand for excellent quality we postponed the sale of our MagShift in order to investigate the issue.
Results of the investigation
We investigated our first production runs and found certain parts which had tolerance differences compared to pre-production prototypes. This resulted in MagShift not meeting its design specifications.
This presented itself as a much lower maximum shift force as was intended in the design (appr. 6kg vs appr. 11kg). It also caused excessive friction and/or excessive noise in some MagShifts (not all) when moving the lever.
MagShift with correct feel
We’re happy to let you know that we have solved the issues and have new MagShift stock available. The overall result is that MagShift now requires a much higher initial engagement force at all available force settings. After the lever starts moving the required force falls away more steeply.
Do you already have a MagShift from the first production runs?
We’re going to help you out! We have published a service bulletin on our website. If you recognize the issues mentioned in this article we will update your MagShift with new parts to the correct specification. Please read the service bulletin for further instructions.
